Jimmy Ray Blixt passed away at his home in Niarada Montana October 19, 2019, at the age of 76. There are so many things to say about the life of this cowboy and the hearts he touched.

As a young boy at the age of 12, Jimmy owned several head of cows, killed his 1st elk and traveled by horseback in the hills of Niarada, Little Thompson and Bazoo.

He loved his horses so much he even named one of his boys after one of them. His adventures led him to marry Marjorie Phillips on Sept 16, 1966 and joining them in this adventure were her children, Charleen, Leslie, Chuckie and Andréa (whom he adopted).

Jimmy was a hard worker; farmed in Post Creek, worked at Dupuis Lumber, owner of Blixt Post and Rail, built post offices in Anchorage Alaska and built a barn in Magnalina New Mexico. In 2005 he met a young woman by the name of Connie Slocum and the two became inseparable. They married July 1st, 2006 and enjoyed many adventures together, 4 wheeling, attending the PBR, Griz games, cooking good food, picking berries, canning, fishing trips with his kids, visits to Yellowstone Park, Connie's family reunions and playing cards with Connie's mom, Betty. He loved to collect international scouts, why, because he could. One of the most important things Jimmy was proud of was caring for Keyannah and Travyn. If you ask Travyn who the best cowboy was he would tell you John Wayne and then he would tell you 2nd best was his grandpa.

Preceding him in death was his parents, siblings, Carol, Doris and Tommy and daughter Andrea and step daughter, Chuckie.

He leaves behind his wife Connie, children, Dureen (Kenny), Carla (Danny), Shawn (Ambree), Jonathan, Travyn Thornton and Cheyenne McClure and wife Kristin and step children Charleen, Leslie, Luke, Lee and Eric, grandchildren, great grandchildren and niece's and nephew's as well as his brother Bill Blixt and sisters Jeannie Dennis and Peggy Koepplin and husband Delbert

Jimmy loved to tell stories and enjoy a good meal. Please join us to celebrate his life Saturday October 26, 2019 at 1pm at Lone Pine Hall. Bring your favorite dish and most importantly your favorite story about Jimmy.
