Bill & Tom, I remember your Mother from cocktail parties in the Orchard Ridge neighborhood.  She was a character!  She was a very lively woman, always ready with a laugh.  My sympathy to you and your families.

Bill and Tom, I worked with your mother for a number of years. She was a breath of fresh air, no bull ——, and meant what she said. I loved her straight forward approach. I was her computer contact forever. Enjoyed working with Jim also. Glad they were able to spend their retirement together, sorry her time was cut short.

Dear Tom and Bill and families,
Myrt was a very special colleague and friend and valued Counselor in the West High School Guidance Dept. I first met Myrt in 1987 when she was the Dept. Chair...she interviewed me and hired me on the spot. From then on, I knew how decisive she was.  She was a strong, capable and well respected Chair by all the staff. She possessed the qualities of a great Administrator (as demonstrated when she was an interim assistant principle). Skilled as she was professionally, she brought a breath of fresh air to our department. She made us laugh every day. Team meetings were punctual, effective and fun. She enjoyed our social times with the whole department whenever and as often as she could make that happen.  One of her closest friends was Joan McNamee, who was head secretary and "the department boss". Unfortunately, Joan left this world way before her time, but it makes me smile to know that Myrt and Joan will be best of friends in the new world which awaits Myrt. I am grateful to your Mom for her kindness, patience and guidance in helping me grow to be even half the Counselor she was. May she be at peace, and may you too find peace in the days ahead.

Bill & Tom,  I'm sorry to hear of Myrt's passing.  Myrt & I spent many days together both personally and professionally.  She was always there when I needed her.  At West she looked after and cared for my two sons, Garin & Greg.  Myrt and JC loved the Wisconsin northwoods, camping, canoeing, and drinking beer on many different lakes.  They enjoyed numerous sleepovers at my house on Boulder Lake.  Your mom was an advocate and fighter for thousands of students she counseled.  It was my privilege and honor to know Myrt.  She was one of a kind.  Nobody can replace her.  Be proud.  Best regards, Gar.

Bill, Tom and families:  Thinking of you, and wishing you peace and comfort as you reflect upon all the wonderful and joyous occasions you shared with your Mother.  Myrt was my best Verona, WI friend from 5th grade on and beyond.  Myrt and her Mother, Corma tried to keep us all in order as young activists throughout our high school years. We shared memories of early marriages during college, and kept in touch throughout our careers. Other special occasions brought us together again and again in Florida and especially in Montana. "Meister" and I traveled annually thru Missoula on our way to northern Idaho. We could easily see why she loved with all her heart watching the ventures of her Montana boys---college, marriage, careers and all that life had to offer in the Great West. Myrt was a very caring and sharing person to all in her circle of friends. I will miss her but cherish the memories forever. Ellen Meister
