Adrian Trammell

April 9, 1933 — April 9, 2017

Adrian Ronald Trammell (Ron) born in Seattle on April 9, 1933 passed away peace-fully at his home in Charlo Montana in the early hours of his 84th birthday. He is preceded in death by his Father James Adrian, Mother Marguerite Starnita (Bair), Brothers Wally and Terry. Ron graduated from Ballard High School and attended the University of Washington. Ron served his community of Seattle and retired with the Seattle Fire Department after 25 years of service.

He is survived by his wife Norma, son Wesley O. (Shelley), daughter Wendy A. Yeater (Steve), brother, David (Carol), Granddaughter Shianne, and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues.

Ron met Norma of 52 years during the World’s Fair in Seattle in 1962. They spent several years in Seattle before moving their family to a farm in Baring, WA. They moved in 1992 and built their dream home in Charlo Montana where he enjoyed his retirement years.

Ron was an avid bodybuilder and fitness buff and spent time training in Venice, California on the original Muscle Beach in the 1950s. Ron competed in an over 70 bodybuilding competition taking 3rd place and kept regular workout routines up into his early 80s.

Ron had a love of the outdoors and animals. He spent his time hiking, camping and packing horses into the Cascade and Mission Mountains as well as into the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area. A highlight of his passion for history and the West came when he and Norma were able to participate in the Rich Hobson Frontier Cattle Drive in Vanderhoof, B.C. Canada.

Ron was a member and past president of the Charlo Lions Club and the BackCountry Horsemen.

Per his request there will be no funeral service but family will have a celebration of Ron’s life in the months to come. Ron’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his wonderful caregivers and friends from Comfort Keepers and nurses from Home Options.

In lieu of flowers Ron would like memorials made to the Charlo Lions Club or Dixon Senior Center in his honor.
