Aliene D. Cooper, age 85, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at the Mountain View Care Center in Ronan. She was born on June 8, 1931 in Sykeston, N. D. the daughter of Henry and Pauline (Wutzke) Cellmer.
She attended and graduated from Edgar (MT) High School in 1949. On November 17, 1951 she married Raymond Cooper in Laurel, MT. They later divorced. Following her divorce, she relocated to Missoula from Ronan where she worked as a bookkeeper at several businesses including Super Save and retired from the University of Montana in the purchasing department. After retirement, she moved to Polson and later back to Ronan.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and quilting. She was an avid reader and enjoyed old westerns and Montana history. She also loved crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Dorothy Stocks and 3 brothers, Maynard, Jarel and Donald Cellmer.
She is survived by her children, Daryl Cooper and his significant other Mary Rogers of Dillon, MT; Lynn Cooper and wife Marilyn of Polson, MT; Randy Cooper and wife Denise of Missoula and daughter Sheri Lien and husband Michael of Ronan, MT; eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter; a brother Lawrence Cellmer and wife Jean of Billings, MT and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Aliene will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 35681 Terrace Lake Road in Ronan. Memorial contributions may be sent to Mountain View Care Center or to St. Paul Lutheran Church both in Ronan.
