Ronan

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jeannine Marie Padilla, as she was welcomed with open arms to the gates of heaven on June 11, 2025. Jeannine was born in Ronan, Montana on November 14, 1959, to Henry and Lenore Padilla. The beloved youngest of six siblings that cherished her place as the baby in the family.

Jeannine was a vibrant, spirited woman who lived life to the fullest. A proud resident of Ronan throughout her life where she continued her education, career, and grew her family. A lifelong lover of the outdoors, Jeannine could often be found hiking Montana’s trails, skiing its snowy slopes, fishing and kayaking in its beautiful waters, or walking her dogs near the serene river. Jeannine was an athlete in every sense – fierce on the softball field where she always brought her “A” game, strong in spirit, and always up for a challenge. She taught aerobics and yoga, encouraging others to find strength and joy through movement. Whether it was chasing her kids, grandkids, or simply chasing adventure, Jeannine brought her whole heart to everything she did.

The loving mother of three sons: Josh, Jeremiah, and Gyme, all of whom loved her fiercely, remained deeply loyal to her, and had a way to keep her on her toes throughout their adolescence. Raising three boys on her own was no easy task, but Jeannine did it with grace, strength, and without complaint. Jeannine’s children always knew they were deeply loved – she was their greatest protector, their loudest cheerleader, and the constant anchor in their lives.

Jeannine’s grandchildren brought out a playful, youthful spark in her. She treasured their visits and overnight stays, often walking with them to Dairy Queen for ice cream or simply soaking up every laugh, hug, and story. Jeannine had a way of turning simple moments into lasting memories, always finding the right time to share wisdom, offer advice, or teach a gentle life lesson. To her grandchildren, she was both a source of joy and a quiet guide through life’s twists and turns.

Jeannine spent many years working for the Tribal Administration, where her dedication and work ethic earned her deep respect. Never one to shy away from a challenge, she made a bold and inspiring move to leave her job and pursue higher education. With determination and pride, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, showing everyone around her that it’s never too late to chase your dreams. That was Jeannine – bold, determined, and always pushing forward.

In her later years, Jeannine found a deep and abiding faith in God through Spirit of Truth Church. It was there she formed a powerful spiritual connection and a loving friendship with Pastor Mike and his wife Josie. Josie became not only a dear friend, but a true confidant and source of support – walking alongside Jeannine through the most challenging times of her illness. Jeannine’s faith brought her peace, strength, and a sense of home.

For the past several months, Jeannine bravely battled terminal lung cancer. She fought with every inch of her soul, never losing sight of the beauty of life or her faith in God. Even in her hardest moments, she chose hope, grace, and gratitude facing each day with quiet courage and deep peace.

Jeannine was the kind of person who always saw the glass as half full. To her, every day was a good day. Her cool, calm demeanor had a way of lighting up a room, and her quick wit and perfectly timed banter brought smiles and laughter to everyone around her. Her laugh – warm real, and often contagions – will echo in the hearts of those who loved her. Jeannine’s presence made others feel safe, loved, and at ease. She will be deeply missed and will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew her.

Jeannine is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Henry and Lenore Padilla.

Jeannine is survived by her three sons; Josh, Jeremiah (Jessica), and Gyme (Danielle); her five grandchildren: Madison, Alexandria, Davin, Alyss, and Pheonix; and her five great-grandchildren. Jeannine is also survived by her five siblings: Mark, Craig, Stan, Lee, and Terry; and several cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
