Sharon Barnes

September 21, 1946 — August 2, 2017

Sharon G. Barnes, 70, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on August 2, 2017. She was born to Daniel and Betty Thomas. She was the third of five children, Cinda, Andrea, Sharon, Coral, and Rex. She lived an interesting life, first raised on a ranch in Dubois, Idaho, then her family owned a motel in Price, Utah for a year, then spent the rest of her life between Alaska commercial fishing with the family and Ronan riding her horses until she finally settled down with her children in Ronan in 1979.

She was baptized in 1975 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was a faithful servant of Jehovah until she passed. Sharon loved to study the Bible and even though she had limited vision, she read the Bible every day and was studied for every meeting. She enjoyed the close association of the ones in the Congregation in St. Ignatius and loved teaching others about Jehovah.

She also had a deep love for animals, especially her dog, Hal, and her horses. She passed that love onto her grandkids whom she loved spending time with riding until she was no longer able.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Andrea; husband, Edward; mother, Betty; father, Daniel; daughter, Heidi; and brother, Rex.

She is survived by two sons, Brett (Liz) Suckow and Troy (Misty) Barnes; a daughter, Shelley (Zane) Barber; grandkids, Drew, Nate, Sarah, Tatyana, Alek, Zayah, Zane, and Zaiden; two sisters, Cinda Barnes and Coral (David) Lockwood, and also many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on September 9, 3:00 PM, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in St. Ignatius.
