Sylvia Staton

Sylvia Staton, age 94, passed away on January 21, 2019 at her residence with her son at her side. She was born on December 12, 1924 in Douglas, North Dakota the daughter of Torkel and Clara Carlson.

She was a Rosie the Riveter in the San Diego Ship yards during WWII. She met and married Walter Staton in San Diego. She was an avid gardener and loved flower gardening as well. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years Walter Staton, sisters, Cora, Tammy, Ella, Edna and Agnes and her brother Kenneth.

She is survived by her son Scott, sister in law Sylvia Carlson and her 3 children and grandchildren; her granddaughter, Kgyn Kuka and great-granddaughters, Kuhnee and Kingslei Kuka.

Memorial services for Sylvia were held on January 28, 2019 at Faith Lutheran Church.
